Designing a garden consists of several steps and activities. Creating a design that is equally exciting and functional, requires quality preparations and good cooperation.

The full process includes the following:

• Initial meeting discussing the aims and perspectives of the garden, followed by a written brief indicating and confirming the wishes and requests.
  
• Designer-client agreement
  
• Site survey (available only for smaller gardens). The larger sites should be measured by a professional site surveyor
  
• Site analysis
  
• Functional drawing
  
• Outline design, together with sectional elevation(s)
  
• Perspective drawing(s) and moodboard
  
• Key plan, setting out drawings (dimensions, paving, drainage, levels)
  
• Construction drawings
  
• Planting plans and schedules
  
• Lighting scheme
  
• Specifications
  
• Planning related documentation
  
• Preparation of contract documentation
  
• Site monitoring until the completion of works
